    Poprad was first recorded in history in 1256, flourishing into the centre of tourism for the High Tatras that it is today. Its surrounding area is interwoven with rich history and culture, fostered by centuries of development. There are many beautiful churches and historic buildings in the region. Spišská Sobota, with lots of unique historical monuments, is a place of great significance in Poprad. Within a few minutes’ walk, the town centre offers a wonderful array of culture to sample. In addition to the beautiful surroundings, you can visit museums, galleries, churches, and a bell tower. In the summer, you can relax in cosy restaurants and cafés with terraces.

    During the winter season, free comfortable regional transport takes visitors and skiers with a valid ski pass ticket and Tatry Card from AquaCity to Tatranska Lomnica, Stary Smokovec and Štrbské Pleso.
    The heart of this region is the High Tatras, which thanks to its unique environment provides many activities to visitors throughout the year. The surrounding environment comprises more than 350km of hiking and mountain biking trails. There are beautiful mountain lakes, crystal clear churning mountain streams and rivers, waterfalls and lakes. In the winter, lovers of skiing and snowboarding will find well developed ski areas, served by an efficient lift infrastructure.     In the surrounding areas of AquaCity there are several magnificent castles. One of the largest castles in Central Europe, Spis Castle (the medieval town of Levoča), and many buildings from the Gothic and Renaissance periods. Pieniny National Park, with its beautiful natural scenery, nearby Lubovniansky Castle, and museum of folk architecture are also popular tourist attractions in the region.
    AquaCity is located close to the centre of Poprad. The ideal driving route to AquaCity is the D1 motorway (exit Poprad – East) from Prešov or Žilina. AquaCity is only located 10 minutes from Poprad international airport, 5 minutes from Poprad Tatry train and bus station and only 15 minutes from the High Tatras: the smallest mountain range in the world and the third highest in Europe
